Borth has a small Zoo offering unwanted animals and exotic pets a new home. There are lots of attractions and daily activities for visitors to enjoy. Reptile shows when you may touch and stroke lizards and snakes. Feeding times for the Crocodiles, Cats, Owls and Meerkats with Bunny and Pony grooming sessions kids will love. The zoo is disabled friendly, with flat concrete paths to all exhibits, no steps and only gentle slopes.

Set in a spectacular location on the sweep of Cardigan Bay, Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club was established in 1885 and has a strong claim to be the oldest course in Wales. This traditional links course provides a great test of golf all year round, as one would expect of a Golf Union of Wales championship venue. After playing, golfers can sit back and relax in the spacious modern clubhouse where full bar and catering facilities are available.

Ynyslas has three stunning miles of golden beach stretching from Borth in the south to the sand dunes in the north. It is a perfect location for walking, picnics and windsurfing. Home to many rare plants and animals, in the summer the dunes naturally transform into a colourful carpet of wild flowers including many types of orchid.

Visitors are allowed to drive onto the sands and park near the visitor centre that has interpretation displays and toilets. A boardwalk through the dunes leads to the stunning beach.

The nearby 18 hole golf course is one of the oldest Links courses in Wales.

Aberystwyth is the principal holiday resort and administrative centre of the west coast of Wales. It is also home to the University of Wales Aberystwyth and the National Library. Housed in a beautifully preserved Edwardian theatre, Ceredigion Museum is situated in the heart of Aberystwyth, near the seafront.

The Museum is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and entry is free.

Covering an area of 800 hectares, Ynys-hir has an exciting mixture of habitats to be explored. Stunning Welsh oak woodland which in spring has breeding pied flycatcher, redstart, wood warbler and lesser spotted woodpecker as well as the early spring flowers such as bluebells.

The estuary saltmarsh and lowland wet grasslands support breeding lapwing and redshank. During the autumn and winter months this habitat is important for Greenland white-fronted geese, golden plover, lapwing, wigeon and barnacle geese.

Other areas to explore include freshwater pools, reedbeds and peat bog. Birds to be seen here include grasshopper warblers, water rail with hen harrier in the winter. There are many species of dragonfly and butterflies including small red dragonfly and brimstone butterflies, otters, common lizard, slow worms and grass snakes.

For a day out that provides a hands-on learning experience, for all ages, visit the Magic of Life Butterfly House. See some of the largest and most colourful butterflies in the world! Walk among them and watch them feeding, courting and laying eggs. The lush tropical conditions allow many rare and exotic plants to thrive, including Passion flowers, Bananas, Birthworts and Cannas.

Bwlch Nant y Arian is an outstanding forest recreation centre. An award winning attraction, the Visitor Centre has been completely re-developed as an ecologically friendly building with excellent restaurant facilities, a gift shop and superb views.

Nant-yr-Arian is famous for the daily Red Kite feeding, which can be seen from the Visitor Centre or from many places around the lake. A video system gives a close-up view of the birds. For the more athletic, there are a number of Waymarked Walks, one of which is suitable for disabled persons. Excellent Cycle Trails start and end at Nant-yr-Arian, with a bike washing facility at the Visitor Centre.

CAT, or the Centre for Alternative Technology, is an education and visitor centre demonstrating practical solutions for sustainability. CAT covers all aspects of green living: environmentally friendly building, eco-sanitation, woodland management, renewable energy, energy efficiency and organic growing. The unique site is a national test bed and teaching centre for an enormous range of live examples of sustainable solutions.

Bro Ddyfi has a 20 metre leisure swimming pool which is perfect for lane swimming or to relax and unwind after the stresses and strains of the day. There is also a 30 m flume for added fun for all the family.

The indoor bowls hall consists of four rinks & a viewing area. It regularly hosts County & National fixtures and has a variety of local leagues. Bowls equipment is available for hire and rinks are charged on an hourly basis.

The 21 station fitness suite has a variety of equipment to work all areas of the body, to include cardio vascular and strength training equipment.

King Arthur’s Labyrinth is an underground adventure, set in an old Welsh slate mine. Deep beneath the mountains of Southern Snowdonia, in the village of Corris, King Arthur's Labyrinth is one of the most mysterious visitor attractions in Mid Wales. On this fun day out you sail, with a mysterious hooded boatman, through a magical underground waterfall - your gateway to the dark ages and a time of myth, magic, dragons, giants and King Arthur himself.

Built originally in 1859, the Corris Railway was the first Narrow Gauge railway in Mid-Wales. Take a regular steam-hauled service (a round trip takes 50 minutes through breath taking scenery) then visit the station museum.

Boat trips from New Quay take you out to meet the bottlenose dolphins of Cardigan Bay. With an on-board researcher and underwater microphone (hydrophone) to listen to the dolphins when you meet them, this is an unbeatable experience.
